Nowadays IFSUA is represented, follows or is in touch with several international institutions and forums. Specifically:

                  

 

+ MEDAC: The Mediterranean Advisory Council is a stakeholders' institution created to give advice to the European Commission regarding fisheries issues in the Mediterranean. Currently, IFSUA chairs the recreational fisheries working group and is member of the Executive Committee.

+ SWWAC: The South Western Waters Advisory Council is the same as MEDAC but regarding South EU Atlantic. This includes France, Spain and Portugal. IFSUA is also Executive Committee Member.

+ GFCM: The General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean is an international institution aimed to manage fisheries at regional level (Mediterranean and Black Sea). Its members are all coastal countries. It has a Scientific Advisory Council in which we took part often.

+ ICES: More than 100 years old, the International Council for the Exploration of the seas is formed by more than 2000 scientists all-over the world. Its mission is give advice to member countries in sea related issues. IFSUA actively participates in the recreational fisheries working group.

+ WRFC: The World Recreational Fisheries Conference is a triannual event that gathers researcher, managers and stakeholders from all over the world to discuss about recreational fisheries.

+ EU: IFSUA attends several meetings organized every year by European Parliament groups and European Commission projects and workshops related to maritime issues. Moreover, we have permanent relationships with MEPs.
